Facts about Negative Calorie Foods - Calorie Density is What Matters
For foods that have very few Calories and a lot of bulk fibre and indigestible material it is possible that your body may consume more Calories eating, digesting and processing the waste than is contained in the food itself. It is not that the food itself has 'negative Calories' as this is a nonsense - it is just that eating and processing this food is costly in terms of the energy that can be extracted. The net outcome of eating the food is never a negative, just really low.
